About me
Born in Hexham, UK
Works and lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands
When young, Roland Brimicombe made drawings, illustrations and played with art (like appropriations and making variations on them). After his medical study he worked as a clinical/medical microbiologist. Even here drawing had its benefits: you can come to a better interpretation or understanding of what you see when you try to fix it into a drawing. Next step was to turn them into works of art and move beyond the subject of microbiology. He uses oil paint and his paintings are mostly, but not exclusively, abstract.
